Introducing three Extended Health Care and Dental coverage options
Introducing three Extended Health Care and Dental coverage options
For 2027, you can choose from three coverage options — Basic, Core and Plus — for both Extended Health Care and Dental. You can choose one option for Extended Health Care and a different option for Dental.
If you cover eligible family members, they must be enrolled in the same coverage option you choose for that benefit.
If you choose Basic or Core, Republic Services contributes to spending accounts that give you additional dollars to use toward eligible expenses. Depending on your choices, you may receive credits in a Health Care Spending Account, a Wellness Spending Account, or both.

Our new benefits website might be the most obvious change — and one that affects everyone!
This fresh, easy-to-use site is the perfect place to learn all about your new benefits, and it’s not just for you. We recognize that family members often help make benefits decisions, so we wanted to give you a place where they could go too.
You can use a smartphone, tablet or computer to access our new website 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, from wherever you or your family members are.
Each benefit has its own web page. Explore the website now to learn more about your 2027 benefits options and return frequently throughout the year or anytime you have a question about your benefits.
Before You Enrol

When You’re Ready To Enrol
Choose the benefits coverage that best meets your needs during Open Enrolment, October 27 – November 10. Your selections will take effect on January 1, 2027. After this enrolment period, you won’t be able to make changes to your coverage until next fall — unless you experience a qualifying life event.

You do NOT enrol on Workday.
You enrol on the:
- Manulife plan member site, or
- Manulife Mobile app. Download the app by visiting your App store and searching for Manulife Mobile.
1. Set up your Manulife ID.
Before you can enrol for your benefits, you’ll need to set up your online account. Select Set up your Manulife ID. Manulife ID is a single, secure username and password combination for accessing all things Manulife.
Find additional information, including a step-by-step video and FAQ.
If you already have a Manulife ID, select Sign in. Once you’ve activated and connected your group benefits plan using your contract number (158605) and certificate number (same as your employee ID), you’ll be ready to enrol.
2. Complete your enrolment.
- Sign in to the Manulife plan member site or the Manulife Mobile app with your Manulife ID.
Click the Enrol now button.
Take time to review all available options before making your selections. You can save your choices and return later if needed, but remember to submit your final selections by November 10, 2026.
- If additional forms are needed (e.g., an Evidence of Insurability form), a link will appear at the end of the enrolment tool prompting you to submit the form online. If you’re enrolling using the Manulife Mobile app, you’ll receive an email reminder prompting you to complete these forms if required.
- Before you sign out, save or print your confirmation of selections for your records.
3. Designate your beneficiaries.
The enrolment tool will prompt you to update or confirm your beneficiary designations. This helps ensure any life insurance benefits are directed according to your wishes. Additional information is available on Manulife’s beneficiary FAQ page.
Note: If you’ve previously designated an irrevocable beneficiary, that designation will remain in place under the new Manulife plan.
After You Enrol
After you complete your enrolment, save or print your confirmation for your records. Your coverage statement will be available through the Manulife plan member site once coverage becomes effective on January 1, 2027.
Several Reminders
- Payroll deductions for your benefits will begin with the first paycheque after January 1, 2027.
- The elections you make during Open Enrolment will remain in effect until December 31, 2027, unless you have a qualifying life event, such as getting married, having a baby, or losing other coverage. Your next opportunity to make changes to your benefits will be during Open Enrolment in the fall of 2027.
- A new Manulife benefits card will be mailed to your home after your coverage becomes effective on January 1, 2027. If you need your card before the plastic card arrives, you will be able to access a digital version through the Manulife plan member site or the Manulife Mobile app starting January 1, 2027. Watch for additional information closer to the transition date.
If You Don’t Enrol

- Accidental Death & Dismemberment (AD&D) Insurance
