Beginning on your hire date, you have access to the:

You become eligible to enrol in these group benefits through Manulife:

• Basic Life Insurance
• Basic Accidental Death and Dismemberment (AD&D) Insurance
• Dependent Life Insurance
• Extended Health Care 
• Dental
• Health Care Spending Account (HCSA) 
• Wellness Spending Account (WSA)
• Optional Critical Illness Insurance 
• Optional Life and AD&D Insurance

Your available HCSA and WSA options will depend on the Extended Health Care and Dental coverage levels you select.

You become eligible for:

• Short-Term Disability (STD)
• Long-Term Disability (LTD)
• Employee Stock Purchase Plan (ESPP)

STD and LTD coverage begins automatically once you meet the eligibility requirements. You can choose whether to participate in the ESPP.

Stablex non-union employees become eligible to participate in the:

• Simplified Pension Plan (SPP)

All other non-union employees are eligible to participate in the:

• Defined Contribution Pension Plan (DCPP)

Eligible employees will receive enrolment information from Manulife. Employees with an email address on file will receive an electronic enrolment invitation. If an email address is not available, the invitation will be sent by mail. 

Employees must complete their benefit enrolment within the enrolment window provided in their invitation.

For retirement plans, your HR representative will let you know what to expect before you become eligible. Once eligible, you will receive a task in Workday with instructions. You will also access Sun Life to select your investments and designate a beneficiary.

If you don’t enrol within the enrolment window provided in your invitation, you will automatically receive:

• Basic Life Insurance
• Basic AD&D Insurance
• Dependent Life Insurance
• Core Extended Health Care coverage - employee only
• Core Dental coverage - employee only
• Short-Term Disability (STD) and Long-Term Disability (LTD) coverage once you meet the eligibility requirements

You can make changes during the next Open Enrolment period or within 31 days of a qualifying life event, such as marriage, divorce, or the birth or adoption of a child.
