Overview

Paid time off (PTO) consists of allocated days off to take for illness, vacations or personal time. This time is in addition to company-paid holidays. You’re eligible for PTO beginning day one at Republic Services. PTO policies differ by location.

If you have questions about eligibility or requesting PTO, your manager or local HR representative is the best resource to guide you.

Amount of PTO

The amount of PTO you receive depends on your employee status and how long you’ve been with Republic Services. To learn how to view your PTO balance and accrual schedule in Workday, see the Review PTO Balance job aid.  

If you’re away from work more than seven consecutive days due to an illness or injury, you may qualify for short-term disability.

Requesting PTO

You can request PTO through Workday. For more information on requesting PTO, check out the job aids available for your desktop computer and mobile phone.

Holidays

In addition to PTO, you receive several company-paid holidays. We operate in many different locations, so our holiday schedules are not one-size-fits-all. Some locations may observe different schedules based on local needs or agreements. To make sure you have the right holiday schedule for your location, check with your manager or local HR representative.
