What You Need To Know
Whether you’re having a baby, adopting or fostering a child, Republic Services offers paid parental leave so you can bond with your growing family.
Eligibility
You’re eligible for paid parental leave if you have been employed with Republic Services for 90 days prior to the date your leave begins. For example, if you were hired on January 1, you’re eligible for paid parental leave if you become a parent after April 1. Temporary, seasonal and casual employees, as well as interns, are not eligible for paid parental leave. For more information on eligibility, review the paid parental leave policy.
Amount of Leave You Receive
Beginning January 1, 2026, all primary or secondary caregivers can request up to six weeks of paid parental leave. For mothers giving birth, paid parental leave will start once any disability benefits are exhausted.
Your Benefits and Pay While on Leave
You’re still covered under your Republic Services benefits while on paid parental leave. No action is required by you.
During paid parental leave, you’ll receive 100% of your pay on your regularly scheduled pay dates, and your benefits contributions will be deducted from your paycheck as if you are working. If you’re a part-time employee, you’ll be paid based on the average number of hours worked over the previous 90 days before your leave.
